Hello everyone! Today’s post is dedicated to a little place in my home that just happens to be my very own little bit of luxury – my bedroom! I am completely inspired by the coveteur (http://www.thecoveteur.com) and decided to invite you into my personal space. I strongly believe that a personal space is a true reflection of your individuality and flair. It is after all an intimate space where you unwind in after a long day and relax!

When it comes to my own bedroom (or home for that matter), I like to start with a blank canvas such as clean white furniture and walls and then add vibrant splashes of bright textures and textiles to give it warmth. The contrast of these two really livens up the space whilst keeping a sense of calm through a minimalistic approach that I adore.

My tips to make your room a little more quirky? Pull out old letters, notes and quotes and hang them in beautiful frames, drape pretty little trinkets like necklaces over these frames, use that sequin statement piece as art and show it off  (why hide it in your closet?), place random objects where they don’t belong – pretty little teacups on dressers and high heels as book ends, collect fashion/art books – stack ’em high and some classic black and white photographs are always a win!

Above are some detailed pictures of my room to give you some interior inspiration. I would love to know how you decorate your room?

Until next time…
Happy Monday! xx

My Style Monday: Gold rings, pretty little things

ImageImageImageImage
Okay I have a small obsession with small gold rings, I love ’em stacked, with precious stones, different textures, mixing colours and different sizes. The plain band gold rings (top) are from Lovisa (accessories from a shoot yesterday) and are such a simple way to decorate your hands and pile them on. I particularly love how they sit above the knuckle, so chic!

The semi precious emerald and gold plated ring and pure gold heart ring are very sentimental to me, one is custom made for me from my parents and the other used to be my mother’s. I never leave home without them and my grandpa’s vintage watch and find that these accessories compliment just about every outfit!

Thoughts on delicate rings – Rate or hate? x

Fabulous Friday: Master of Magic – John Galliano favourites!

“Style is wearing an evening dress to McDonalds, wearing heels to play football. It is personality, confidence and seduction. Dressing up. People just don’t do that anymore. We have to change that” – John Galliano

Thursday Style Bulletin: Work to play – NINE am to SIX pm!

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I will show you how to have the perfect styling sorted for those fun and important meetings you come across during a busy week! Juggling a balance between work and play is tough for a gal on the go and it’s hard to find the perfect outfit when you’re staring at the gazillion items hanging in your wardrobe for 10min straight!

Here is today’s cheat sheet on how to go from hanging with the girls to a business power lunch to a date where you want to impress!

If you’re looking for a relaxed day out with your besties after a hectic week, the best option is to opt for comfort and easy pieces! Stay away from clean tailoring and throw on a bright jacket, big sunnies and ankle boots instead. You never know if breakfast will turn into a mega shopping spree, so best to stay comfortable and practical. A fun stripe top or bottom will add that hint of preppiness and the pattern goes with just about anything. Too easy!

Right, let’s power on to that important business meeting where you will have to dress to impress. After all, first impressions last so why not make one with minimalism and clean lines. My ideal outfit would comprise of three key staples – white skirt, tailored blazer in a chic cut and a black cigarette trouser. Accessories should only be in solid metals – gold or silver, don’t over clutter. To finish off, add a slick of matte red on the mouth (a symbol of a power woman in the 80’s!). With the correct outfit in place, you’ll be closing deals in no time ..like a BOSS (lady)!

Last but not the very least, and this is the fun part – dressing for a first date! I think it’s ideal to keep this look fuss free, feminine and sexy. You can’t go wrong with a LBD and some high pumps! Keep the hair and make up soft too, no garish colours – just leave that for the disco! A spray of your favourite flirty fragrance, a killer smile and you’re good to go!

WANDERLUST: Wellington – My home, My heaven

Helloooo everyone! I haven’t posted on here for the longest time so feeling the slight guilt catching up on me now. This past week, I flew back home to visit family in the prettiest corner of the world: New Zealand! I am going to be completely unashamedly bias and say that this tiny place on earth is one of the most gorgeous countries you’ll ever come across. And what’s more, my city Wellington was officially named ‘coolest little capital in the world’ by Lonely Planet last year.

Every time I go back to ‘Welly’, I still have to pinch myself that I have been lucky enough to spend all my life there. It’s postcard perfection – clusters of cafes lining up along the edge of the bay, crystal blue sparkling water, lush green mountains on one side mixed with the CBD hub along the other. The best part is that if you want to escape or take a scenic drive along the coast, you don’t need to travel 2-3 hours by car – just take a quick turn from the city and you’re driving along a stunning coast where it’s easy to forget all your worries. It’s a town where you cannot help but think: ‘how did I get so lucky to live here?’

Here are some photos I took this week of Oriental Bay, a hang out of mine ever since I can remember! x
